Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
Trade macbook in for a new one?
I've had my macbook for about 2 months now but my brothers scratched the front a lot and dropped it a couple times so the screen is crooked. Would they let me trade it in for a new one? Not an updated one, the same kind of macbook.

    • ANSWER:
What do you mean, "had"? Is it completely broken where you can't use it? I don't know, you know what? It depends on your warranty. On my laptop warranty have a damaged repair warranty. The guy at bestbuy was like, "Just in case your lil brother kicks the laptop or drops juice in it, you can bring it here for a replacement." So I brought the warranty just in case it drops. It also covers hardware failures, and battery. However sadly, it doesn't cover viruses! x( Anyways, that's for my Sony Vaio warranty. I don't know about apple warranty. :/ For chances ask to see if the warranty cover damages. It doesn't hurt to ask? Good luck, and if it covers plz take care of your laptop and keep it away from your brothers! Especially if their little. If it doesn't cover, then I'm, sorry about your situation.

  2. QUESTION:
Just bought a Macbook pro 3 weeks ago, is there still a way to trade it in for the new one?
I just bought the high end 15inch MacBook Pro about three weeks ago. Yesterday, Apple released a refresh that blows what I jsut bought out of the water for the same price. I am going insane! Does anyone know if I can return or trade this MacBook in for a new one?

    Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
Id give them a ring, I just received my now "old spec" macbook pro today.
I gave apple a call and they have arranged for mine to be returned and are replacing it with the equivalent spec (which is actually better) free of charge.

  3. QUESTION:
Trade MacBook in for MacBook Pro?
Hi all! I was just curious if anyone's had any experiences with Apple's trade in program? I've had my MacBook since 2007 and it still runs great. But Apple says I could maybe trade it in for 4 initial quote. I've had my eye on a MacBook Pro, 13 inch though. Would it be worth trading in now while I could still get something for it? What's people's experience with the MBP? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
If your macbook is still running great and still meets all your needs in computer, i say you wait.
The Macbook Pro is, indeed Pro. but its only going to be "Pro" until the next model comes out which should be sometime in early 2011. If you decide you want the new 2011 Pro, then trade in, get what you can for your current mac-book and trade up!
If you decide that you don't really need the new 2011 pro, and the 2010 pro would work great, you trade in for a couple hundred, and get one of the current 2010 pros for a much discounted price, something we could all use when it comes to buying macs :)

Stick in there! only a few more months!

  4. QUESTION:
Macbook trade in with the new ones?
If you bought a macbook before they came out with the news ones, would you trade it in?
If so how would it be done?

    • ANSWER:
For the most part, you're stuck with your old one.

  5. QUESTION:
Anyone want to trade a Macbook Pro for my Sony Vaio?
Would anyone be interested in trading a Macbook Pro with OSX Leopard, for a Sony Vaio AR520e?

    • ANSWER:
      You'd be lucky!?

It might be easier just to sell your Sony Viao on ebay and then make up the difference when you buy a MacBook Pro
