      You CAN do it, but it would be incredibly expensive.
      You can buy most of the things you would need from basic websites, such as eBay and Amazon.com.
      You can certainly get a new, longer lasting battery from Amazon.com.
      You can also get a new keyboard, but that may take more work to install.
      I suggest checking out those and other more computer-based websites for the specific tools and materials you would need.
      You probably would have been better off just buying the MacBook Pro if you really wanted all that, but a normal MacBook is still pretty amazing.

      You can customize a MacBook Pro in the apple store but they do not actually do the custom configurations in the actual store. They would basically place the order through their online store and have it shipped to you free of charge. Apple Store worker are actually very good at helping you decided exactly what you need. You tell them what you want and you get it with a week or so. I wish they did in store configurations so that we could pick them up same day.       Apple doesn't sell their macbooks in other colors. It's black or white, nothing else.

      You have two options:

      Or search for another you like more.

    like make it on the online apple store then have it sent to a local store to buy it there. i know that local stores only sell the base products.

      Unfortunately, no. And that's one of Apple's weaknesses. You can, however, go to the Apple Online store, and choose a Macbook. Click on the "Buy Now" button, and it will bring you to a page where you can almost freely change the specifications of your macbook, such as the processor, hard drive, built in software, etc. Your price will go up as you add things to your macbook, but at least you will have it customized to your needs. Then you can buy online (and only online) your customized MacBook. Hope this helps!!!

      P.S. if you want high RAM capacity, don't add it on the online store. They charge you more than what you should pay. You can buy RAM separately for a much cheaper price (they charge you 0 to upgrade RAM, but I bought mine separately for , and it's fabulous)
