What hard drives are compatible with the new macbooks?
I'm getting one of the new aluminum macbooks - have heard that the hard drive is easily replaceable, and will be wanting to replace its 5400rpm 250gb hard drive for a 7200rpm hard drive (apple themselves don't offer this). What types of hard drives are compatible? I obviously don't want to buy a hard drive for it only to find it doesn't work. Will any old notebook hard drive work? Apple really aren't the best laptops, especially for upgrading & downgrading!!I would highly recommend getting a PC - maybe from Toshiba or HP's ranges. Most of these laptops are much cheaper than the Mac equivalent. Toshiba even offer a money back guarantee within a year on some laptops - meaning if it breaks, they'll refund you AND give you a working laptop!!
Otherwise, most laptop hard drives should fit into the MacBook.

i kept hearing that apple were going to make a new updated version of the macbook just like what they did with the santa rosa -> penryn . apparently this is due to happen mid this year around june , july. i was wondering is this a true statement or not. if so what would/are the changes .ANSWER:
Likely a mostly cosmetic overhaul, and an upgraded chipset. They were just upgraded, and they tend to have a production span of 6 months, so yeah, sometime around the summer seems to be a good time for a change. That and any time around MacWorld in Jan/Feb.Apple is pretty consistent in releasing products on a perdictable timeframe.
