New Macbook

Iphoto Facial Recognition
The iPhoto '09 that was released along with iLife '09 includes several improvements over the earlier version. Among these is a new feature called Faces.
Faces is a program that actually recognizes the faces of people in your photos and does the tagging for you. If you are a photography buff with thousands upon thousands of photos in your files, this feature is very useful. But first, you will need to accomplish a few things to get it up and running.
The first thing you need to do is to import your photos into the iPhoto library. Once you are done, select a few photos for tagging. iPhoto will not be able to identify faces all of the time. If it does, however, a square is displayed over the face, or at least what it assumes to be a face, and a black box underneath marked "Unknown Face".

Apple is very discreet about the item they release. Either way, a macbook is an awesome buy, and it will fit all your needs. It can run office and all that. You can even run windows on it. Good luck.

QUESTION:
Should i get a refurbished macbook pro with applecare or start with a new one?
I am looking to switch from an HP laptop to potentially a mac. I saw on apples website that i can get a refurbished 13" Aluminum Macbook Pro for 9 and a three year applecare plan for 0. Together thats just about equal to a new 13" aluminum macbook pro. Is it worth getting a refurb with the warranty or starting with a new macbook and only the one year?ANSWER:
Get the refurbished one. Apple does an extraordinary job of refurbishing their products. Also, get the AppleCare either way. AppleCare is free on all Apple products for a year, and you can buy it anytime before that year is up. So, even though I STRONGLY recommend AppleCare, give the year a test and see how it goes. AppleCare has been extremely helpful for me. I brought my MacBook Pro in to get a tiny bubble in my display checked out and they ended up replacing my display. The repair total was around 0, which I didn't pay a cent for because of AppleCare. (oh and I bought my MacBook Pro new, and the bubble was still there) In summary, buy the refurbished one, and buy AppleCare! Oh, and if you are a student, there is a HUGE discount on AppleCare. Also, AppleCare will NOT cover any damage cause by you. (just a warning)
QUESTION:
with new macbook, should I start a new time machine or use my old?
I have a 500GB partition in my hard drive which I used with my old macbook pro. Now i got a new one, what is the best thing to do? Will my mac automatically start a new timemachine on the same drive?I wont to avoid clutter. May not install all the software that were on my old macbook pro.
ANSWER:
Your MacBook will not touch the files of your old backups from your old computers. They will only get deleted if you allowed time machine to delete the oldest backups. The computer will not backup itself automatically. You should first enable time machine from System Preferences and select the backup drive.
QUESTION:
Whats the difference between the new Macbook and the old Macbook?
What i mean by the new macbook is the one released in October of 2008 and the old one was released May of 2006.
By the new macbook i mean the one that cost 1299 or around there not the pro.ANSWER:
Their are lots of things that are new about the "new" MacBook. First of all It comes with a brand new Nvidia GeForce Graphics card which makes the graphics 5x's faster, along with that the screen is now LED with glossy, glass display. This means that you see clearer colors that are more defined, it also means that their is essentially no warm up time when you lift the screen up. The New mac has a trackpad that doubles as the button. The whole thing is carved out of one piece of aluminum making it lighter yet more durable, with a sharper look. Also if you are a "Green" person, then the new one is for you. The processor works on the lowest amount of power needed for the current task you are doing. That gives it an Energy Star rating as well as EPEAT gold rating; it uses 1/4 power of a light bulb! Their are so many more reasons to buy the new Vs. the Old. If you have the money do it!
