You are correct. Apple laptops are made in the USA (not to be confused with the rest of the Americas... I'm sure South Americans hate the fact they the USA is referred to as America
As such, the laptops need to be imported to France. Plus, Apple likes to overcharge for EVERYTHING... it's the Apple way.

The introduction of the MacBook Air probably won't have any bearing on the price or specifications of the current MacBook. They are completely different products with different users in mind. MacBooks are firmly in the regular notebook market. Meanwhile, Apple is aiming the MB Air at the subnotebook/ultraportable market.As for when the MacBook might be revised/upgraded, you have to remember that the current MacBook was only released two months ago. So, judging from Apple's typical upgrade schedule, there won't be any revisions for at least a couple more months.
Finally, if you're trying to decide between a MacBook Air and a regular MacBook, then you have to ask yourself what your needs are and whether the MB Air or the regular MacBook can fill those needs. If you need the full complement of ports (e.g. Ethernet, FireWire, more than one USB port, etc.), then you should probably get the MacBook because the MB Air relies almost exclusively on Wi-Fi for its connectivity. If that's not a problem, and you need ultraportability, then maybe the MB Air will work for you.
You should do some more research by visiting an Apple Store if you have one nearby. Test-drive both models and see which one fills your needs better.

Theoretical questions that can't truly be answered for sure, though realistically, the answer is no to all of your questions.However, they'll certainly be introducing new MacBook Air computers sometime this year (probably six months from now?) meaning the original MacBook Air will be less expensive if you buy it used or refurbished or whatnot.
No, they'll never have CDs how else could they keep the size down? There's a reason they don't have one, and it's not cost. If you start adding things like DVD-RWs to the Mac Air, you've got yourself a regular MacBook, do you not?
The price won't go down simply because it's not really inflated like the iPhone's was.
If I were you, I'd go with the MacBook Pro, unless you really, really want a lighter notebook.
