This single piece becomes the body of the MacBook and MacBook Pro laptops, hence the term "unibody". The entire top case is milled out of a single piece of aluminum, giving the unibody MacBook and MacBook Pro systems an extremely rigid frame and a high quality "fit and finish" that you won't find on other laptop computers.
