Perfectly normal. Actually above avagrag in the laptop world.All selling point statistics are based off of best case sonorous. 7 hours is really 5 hours in real life.

I usually use it not plugged in until it is at very low battery, and then charge it just until it reaches 100 percent, and then remove it from the power source, and use it un-plugged until it reaches low percentage again. And so on and so on. Is this the right way to use my macbook?ANSWER:
You do not need to unplug it once it is fully charged.
You cannot overcharge the battery.
Once it is fully charged, the power supply will just run your comoputer.
You only need to run the battery down occasionally.
You can leave it connected to your power supply most of the time.

Stop calibrating your battery, you just got the laptop. If you want to see how much time is left switch the 97% to hours.
Calibrate your battery every two or three months.
Lower brightness levels, turn off bluetooth, watching movies can decrease battery hours more than anything.
