  5. QUESTION:
How can I safely sell my Macbook with all applications installed without risking identity theft?
I want to sell my macbook with second-hand applications installed on it. This, obviously, will allow me to sell it for more. However, I don't want to risk not cleaning my computer off before giving it to a stranger–– they could steal my identity or credit card info or something. Any tips?

    • ANSWER:
Identity theft is over rated. I have been in the finance industry for over 15 years and have seen less than 5 cases of real identity theft. Identity theft is a marketing ploy to get you to buy products you will never need and spend an extra 5$ a month per credit card. In the 50's it was bomb shelters, in the 80's it was communists. I would have to say now the big scare is identity theft. Who is making money off of this, well lets think about it a credit card company with 2 million card holders and then you can scare them all into 5$ a month credit protection bogus programs, comes out to 10million a month extra money for them why not push the identity theft issue? Sure has worked great for that credit report guy who sings and plays guitar on tv for you

Seatac Airport

The Port of Seattle originally built Seattle-Tacoma (aSea-Taca) Airport in the early 1940's. The airport, which is now in the city of SeaTac but was originally in unincorporated King County land, is still operated by the Port of Seattle. The airport is located twelve miles south of Seattle, and twenty miles north of Tacoma. Following World War II, the first scheduled commercial flights out of Sea-Tac Airport occurred in 1947. In 1949, International was added to the airport's name as Northwest Airlines began offering direct service from Sea-Tac to Tokyo. Local residents commonly refer to the airport as aSea-Taca.

Sea-Tac's runways were expanded in the late 1950's and early 1960's to accommodate jets and for increased traffic due to the 1962 World's Fair in Seattle. In 1966, SAS Airline began offering non-stop service from Sea-Tac to Europe. In the early 1970's, Sea-Tac underwent major expansion in which a second runway was added, a parking garage was built, and two satellite terminals were added, along with other improvements.

There have been less than ten significant accidents or incidents involving airplanes taking off or landing at Sea-Tac. The last fatal accident was in 1956, when a Northwest Orient Flight headed to Portland, Oregon experienced reduced power and extreme buffeting shortly after take-off. The pilot was forced to make a water landing in Puget Sound east of Maury Island, less than fifteen miles from the airport. The plane sank within fifteen minutes of landing, killing five of the thirty-eight on board.

In 1983, following the death of U.S. Senator Henry aScoopa Jackson, the Seattle Port Commission voted to change the name of airport to Henry M. Jackson International Airport. The city of Tacoma, which had helped fund construction of the original airport, fought to restore their name to the airport and the name reverted back to Sea-Tac in 1984. In the early 1990's, planning began on the construction of a third runway to increase capacity at Sea-Tac. There was great opposition to the plan from local residents due to noise and environmental concerns. The airport eventually prevailed and the third runway opened in November 2008, with a construction cost of over one billion dollars. Today, Sea-Tac serves more than two-dozen airlines and over thirty-two million annual passengers, making it one of the nation's twenty busiest airports.

  2. QUESTION:
How Much Should I Sell My Macbook Air For?
Okay, so im going to sell my macbook air, it has very few scratches, still works just fine, 1.6ghz has 60 gb on it if I remember correctly either that or it was 40, 13" diagonally, its an older model.. I was thinking around 700 hundred for it, but can I have some opinions?

    Thanks in advance! =)

    • ANSWER:
A four month old computer generally gets 60% in MINT condition. A six month old in mint condition will get 50%. Macs are more "desireable" on the secondary market so you can get 10-20% more. You did not tell us which version macAir you have. If it was last years model, I'd try at 60% of msrp and expect to negotiate down to 50%. If it was earlier than that youre going to get ALOT less. No one wants a laptop after 2 years, even an apple. In my community which has alot of college students a one year old macAir would get about 400-500 but in your community you may be able to get more. Check what other people are trying to sell theirs for.

  3. QUESTION:

    • ANSWER:

  4. QUESTION:
Ebay buyer has 1 feedback from 3 years ago. Should i sell my macbook air?
A buyer won the auction for my Macbook air for 5 yesterday. But he only has 1 feedback back in 03/08. That makes him a 0% feedback buyer. I already tried contacting him but no response. What do you guys think? Would you go for it?

    • ANSWER:
The buyer could be out of town or the computer could be down. Be patient and give them more time to reply.

  5. QUESTION:
should i sell my macbook air ?
macbook air has very low features and only has usb port and no optical drive . if you were me would you sell it? and how much should i sell it
    ?

    • ANSWER:
sorry to say this but you didn't buy it's features. first off the macbook air is not built for editing or gaming. it's for word processing and internet/email. ok the first thing you do not really need is an optical drive that cost (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB397G/A) you do not really need it because you have itunes and can buy off of there for music and all entertainment and most programs you can download online with no disc. second you need a time capsule (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB765LL/A?fnode=MTY1NDA0Mg&mco=NDE4NDQ1Ng) which is a must because it allows you to never need to plug anything into your computer except power. Since i'm in college it would be good for me but if you do not play games or edit full length movies. I'ts cheaper to buy some accessories. make it an investment not a punishment.

but if you want to sell it depends how old but the lowest 0 in fair condition. Most people use ebay to get an idea of how much something is worth used (http://computers.shop.ebay.com/items/Apple-Laptops-Notebooks__macbook-air?_catref=1&_fln=1&_mdo=&_sacat=111422&_trksid=p3286.c0.m282)

Buying Recycled Electronics Goods

There are several places online that help you to sell your old electronic devices such as or buy sell refurbished Electronics. It has emerged to be one of the best ways to convert old and broken electronic goods in to cash and if you think more closely, by selling these items, you are actually trying to contribute to the environment or working for making the world a green and healthy place to live. Whether, it is to recycle Apple broken i Phone, the recycling company is going to pay you with money thereby making a genuine contribution towards the cause of the environment. Instead of throwing the iPad in the trash bin, it is better certainly to use them for recycling that is much simpler and effective. The procedures that are used by the online recycling companies is also easy as you will have to do nothing more than finding your old cell phone or any other electronic goods through the search option and then providing some of the details about the gadget e.g. Mac Book and then the recycling company will carry out with the valuation of the device and the only thing that you will have to wait for is the payment that will be sent to you. However, as far as recycling is concerned, the valuations of the electronic devices may vary according to the models and usability and for low value devices, people are not much willing to give them for recycling probably because the money that is offered is not as attractive as it is for a high value product.

On the other hand for those items that carry a high value, such as 3G or laptop, the list of people willing to go for this procedure seems to be endless. A private selling option is considered risky because there are more chances for you to get into a fraud and even if the selling procedure is smooth, it is going to be a matter of time and efforts for the owner of the goods. To put it simply, you will be required to do a complete research before you select the recycling company to sell your products. Moreover, the procedures of the online companies are one that is less risky than selling them to a private vendor. However, you cannot accuse me of misleading you if you are not able to get much on a 16 GB or 32 GB computer! The reason for the popularity of recycling is that the cell phones contain a lot of toxic materials that are considered by the environment specialists as harmful for the earth and its inhabitants. In fact, the pollution has extended to various levels and then it is time now for the people to worry about the after effects of pollution.

It is amazing that the very goods that we want to dispose off can actually fetch us with money and it is more than satisfying to know that even if it is a bit, you are still joining hands with millions of people across the world to contribute towards making the environment green and free of toxins. Are you still wondering if you will throw the 4GB in to the trash bin or recycle it? Well it is better to consult the recycling companies that will not only make you happy as you get money for the recycled products but provide you with a better quality of life.

How Apple's Airplay Will Change Your Life

What Is AirPlay?

AirPlay is Apple's way of letting you play your music and videos on bigger and better speakers and screens around your house, without plugging anything in. It's basically a new and improved version of AirTunes, Apple's protocol for streaming music from iTunes to AirPort Express-connected speakers, but AirPlay expands things on several fronts: the type of media you can stream (videos and photos, in addition to music); the types of devices that can stream that media (iPads, iPhones, and iPod Touches) and the places to which that media can be streamed (Apple TVs and compatible third-party hardware, in addition to AirPort Expresseses).
How Will I Use It?

As anyone who has an Airport Express will attest, being able to beam media around the house wirelessly is awesome. And while AirPlay is, in essence, little more than Apple's own proprietary version of DLNA, in this case "Apple's own version" means that AirPlay is seamlessly stitched into the software of Apple's products and works in ways that DLNA can't. Here's how you'll use it.

To play music from your Mac, iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch over your AirPort Express-connected speakers.
This is a big one. Apple sells the AirPort Express for 0. Not too pricey but not all that cheap. I just bought a second, refurbished Express on eBay for . That's cheapcheap enough, if you're willing to buy them second-hand, to have wireless music all over your house. Like even in the bathroom and stuff. Sweet.

How Apple's AirPlay Is About to Change Your LifeUp until now, Apple's Remote app was pretty good for controlling that wireless music goodness from iPhones and iPads, but it required your main Mac to be turned on, serving music via iTunes somewhere in the house. With AirPlay, you're able to stream music directly from your iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. Take out your iPod ears when you're walking into your apartment and instead of stopping the song set it to greet you through your living room speakers as you walk in the door. Yes...entrance music.

To send videos from your iPhone or iPad to your Apple TV-connected television.
The second-gen Apple TV, as Apple described it, seemed pretty lame. Movie rentals are neat (maybe?), but even for a relatively cheap it seemed like this thing didn't really do anything. Until we found out about AirPlay. Not only can the Apple TV receive whatever videos you've bought from iTunes or managed to wrangle into your iPad or iPhone's fussy Video app, it can play any video that plays through iOS's native video player, including YouTubes, Vimeos, Vevos, and whatever else.

How Apple's AirPlay Is About to Change Your LifeNow, I know I can play YouTube videos directly on my TV through Panasonic VIeraCast, and I think I could figure out a way to pipe them in through my XBox, but I never do! Because it's a pain in the ass! And while it might seem decadent (moreso, even, than second-hand AirPort poop-tunes), I think you could make a case for AppleTV solely as a big screen Vimeo watcher. Sure, the YouTube cat video pantheon might not really need the TV treatment, but I find myself watching beautifully-produced, longer-than-bite-sized stuff on sites like Vimeo all the time. To me, short documentaries like this and music videos like this are far more deserving of my big screen real estate than whatever Kardashian hijinks E! happens to be showing.

Some very neat things in between.
What's very cool about AirPlay (and a little surprising, considering the sometimes-restrictive tendencies of the company behind it) is that it works in some useful but not-so-obvious ways you might not initially consider. Say you're in bed watching a video on your iPad. You can use AirPlay to stream just the audio to your Airport Express-connected stereo, affording you some extra boom over the iPad's tinny speakers but keeping the video right up close to your face on your tablet.
AirPlay Is Gonna Be Everywhere

While AirPort Express and Apple TV are a pretty affordable means to get your current speakers and screens AirPlay ready, Apple's also opened up AirPlay to third-party hardware, making way for stereos and picture frames and the like can receive media from your iPhone right out of the box.

How Apple's AirPlay Is About to Change Your LifeApple's already announced partnerships with companies like Denon, Marantz, Bowers & Wilkins, JBL, and iHome to create AirPlay-friendly gear, and you can bet that countless other companies will follow. These products will range from the swanky, expensive receiver in your home theater to the cheap iPod speakers you bought at the Apple Store, and they'll function just like normalyou'll just happen to be able to send music to them wirelessly, too.

So even if you're not racing out to get an Apple TV, AirPlay is poised to bring about a gadget world in which you'll be able to play more of the stuff you like in a lot more places.
What's in the Future For AirPlay?

With AirPlay, Apple's taking a big step into a rad future, one in which music and videos and photos exist on mobile devices but can be enjoyed through better speakers and bigger screens. But we're not all the way there by any means.

OS X is one weak link. Though iTunes is AirPlay-equipped, meaning you can send music and video in your iTunes library to AirPlay devices, I can't remember the last time I watched a video through iTunes. That means that on your Mac, YouTube, Vimeo, and the rest are still imprisoned in the browser. Hopefully this will change with the next version of OS X.

The idea of AirPlay outside of your house is also still a question mark. Joel looked forward to the possibility of effortlessly throwing photos from your iPhone onto your friend's Apple TV, though it's unclear exactly how easy it will be to do so. And of course there's still the fact that amidst all this wireless nirvana, the media still has to exist on your iPad or iPhone, synced with that pesky USB tether. So there's still that to look forward to, the day when all the music you're listening to and the videos you're watching, whether they're on the net, your Mac, your phone or your tablet, can be beamed around via AirPlay.
